The honest comparison
Sweatshirt or hoodie – which one do you actually want?
Same graphics run across both. If a design you like is only listed as a hoodie, the sweatshirt version usually exists in the same colourway – search by design name.
Two weights, one fabric
Mid-weight vs heavyweight crewneck
Mid-weight (320–350 GSM)
- French terry, lightly brushed
- Slim enough for a varsity or leather jacket over it
- Regular fit, ribbed collar, cuffs and hem
Best for: the mid layer – autumn, spring, under a coat
Heavyweight (380–400 GSM)
- Loopback fleece, fully brushed – same as the pullover hoodies
- Relaxed fit, dropped shoulder
- Only fits under a windbreaker or oversized coat
Best for: wearing on its own, the oversized look without a hood
Garment measurements, laid flat
Sweatshirt size chart
Mid-weight runs about 4 cm narrower than heavyweight at the same size. The chart below is for heavyweight; subtract 4 cm from chest for mid-weight.
| Size | Chest (heavy) | Chest (mid) | Length | Sleeve | Typical height |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| XS | 106 cm / 41.7" | 102 cm / 40" | 65 cm / 25.6" | 58 cm / 22.8" | 160–168 cm |
| S | 112 cm / 44" | 108 cm / 42.5" | 67 cm / 26.4" | 60 cm / 23.6" | 165–173 cm |
| M | 118 cm / 46.5" | 114 cm / 45" | 69 cm / 27.2" | 62 cm / 24.4" | 170–178 cm |
| L | 124 cm / 48.8" | 120 cm / 47" | 71 cm / 28" | 64 cm / 25.2" | 176–184 cm |
| XL | 130 cm / 51" | 126 cm / 49.6" | 73 cm / 28.7" | 66 cm / 26" | 182–190 cm |
| 2XL | 136 cm / 53.5" | 132 cm / 52" | 75 cm / 29.5" | 68 cm / 26.8" | 188 cm+ |
±2 cm tolerance. Fleece shrinks 3–5% in length on the first cold wash – already factored in. Sweatshirts run 1 cm shorter than the hoodies at every size because there's no hood weight pulling the hem.
Where the crewneck wins
What goes over it, what goes under it
↑
Over: varsity jacket
The combination the varsity was cut for. Mid-weight crewneck, true size on both. Collar sits flat under the ribbed jacket collar.
Mid-weight · true size
↑
Over: leather jacket
Only the mid-weight. Heavyweight fleece is too much bulk under structured leather – the shoulders fight each other.
Mid-weight only
↑
Over: windbreaker
Either weight. The windbreaker's cut with layering room, so a heavyweight crewneck fits fine.
Any weight
↓
Under: a tee
Plain tee under a crewneck, collar just showing. Keeps the fleece off your skin and saves washes.

Ribbed collar is the weak point
Care – protect the neckline
A crewneck's collar is what gives out first. It's ribbed, it stretches, and once it's bacon-necked it doesn't come back. Everything below is about that.
- Cold wash, inside out
- Pull it on by the hem, not the collar
- Fold flat – hangers stretch the shoulders and collar
- Tumble low or lay flat to dry
- Hot water or high heat – collar rib loses recovery
- Fabric softener – coats the fleece and the rib
- Hanging to dry by the collar
- Ironing the collar or any print
- Prints
- Screen print on most lettering, puff print on select pieces, embroidery on small chest logos – same rules as the hoodie range, wash inside out.

✕ Not official
We're an independent fan-merch project with no affiliation to Travis Scott, Cactus Jack or any collaborating brand. Nothing here is an official drop, and we don't call any of it "authentic". If official is what you want, this isn't the place.
✓ What's verified
Fleece weight, measurements and print method are checked on the actual garment. Colourway names match the hoodie and sweatpants range because it's the same fleece. Washed finishes vary on purpose; solid colours don't.
Questions buyers ask
Travis Scott sweatshirt FAQ
Is a sweatshirt warmer than a hoodie?
Slightly less, at the same fleece weight – the hood traps heat at the neck. Heavyweight crewneck vs heavyweight hoodie, the hoodie wins by a little. Under a jacket the difference disappears.
Is it oversized like the hoodies?
Heavyweight: relaxed with a dropped shoulder, close to the hoodie cut. Mid-weight: regular fit, made to layer. Neither is as boxy as the pullover hoodie.
Does it have a pocket?
No. Crewnecks here are pocketless by design – a kangaroo pocket adds bulk under a jacket, which defeats the point. If you need the pocket, the hoodie range has it.
Will the collar stretch out?
Only if you hang it wet or pull it on by the collar. Fold flat and pull on by the hem – see the care section. The rib is doubled and holds up well otherwise.
Can I match it with sweatpants?
Yes – same colourway names as the sweatpants. Heavyweight crewneck pairs with tapered joggers; mid-weight with straight-leg.
Are these official Travis Scott sweatshirts?
No. Independent fan merch, no affiliation with Travis Scott, Cactus Jack or any brand partner.
